Provital Goes Purple: A Month of Awareness, Education and Empowerment

Every June, a sea of purple blooms across the nation as communities come together to recognize Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. But behind the color and symbols lies a deeper truth: Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of dementia, are not just personal medical diagnoses, they are life-altering journeys for millions of families.

At Provital Services, we believe that every family facing memory loss deserves trusted guidance, compassionate support, and clear information to make confident care decisions. That’s why this June, we’re not just raising awareness, we’re inviting you to join us in learning, talking, and taking action.

We founded Provital with the vision of helping seniors and their families find the ideal living community or home care services for those who prefer to age in place.

Understanding the Scope of Alzheimer’s

More than 7 million Americans aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Behind these numbers are mothers, fathers, grandparents, spouses, whose personalities and abilities are slowly altered by a disease that currently has no cure.

But it’s not just a disease of aging. Alzheimer’s can begin years before symptoms appear. It also impacts caregivers, many of whom sacrifice their time, jobs, and health to provide for a loved one. Often, they do so with little guidance.

This month, Provital Services is shining a light on:

  • The difference between memory loss and normal aging.

  • The types of care available for individuals with cognitive decline.

  • The importance of caregiver support and self-care.

We're bringing our free, educational talks to more local groups, senior centers, and community spaces, because everyone deserves support and clarity when navigating senior living options.

Alzheimer’s Is Not Normal Aging

It's normal to forget a name now and then or misplace your keys. But Alzheimer's goes beyond occasional forgetfulness. It impairs one’s ability to make decisions, follow conversations, recognize loved ones, and complete everyday tasks.

The signs are often subtle at first, repeating the same story, withdrawing from activities, struggling with time or place. Families may not recognize the early symptoms, or they may dismiss them out of fear or uncertainty. That’s where knowledge becomes power.

Early recognition leads to better planning, more time to adapt, and a smoother transition into appropriate care, whether that’s at home or in a specialized memory care community. Why Awareness Must Lead to Action

Awareness is essential - but it’s only the first step. To truly make a difference, we need to have honest conversations. That means asking a parent if they’re having trouble remembering. It means exploring Power of Attorney while a loved one can still make decisions. It means planning for future care before there’s a crisis.

Too often, families wait until they’re overwhelmed. In our work, we regularly meet caregivers who are burnt out, unsure of what’s covered by insurance, or struggling to navigate a sea of unfamiliar options. That’s why Provital Services exists, to simplify this process and connect families with the right care at the right time.

We help with:

  • Touring and selecting memory care, assisted living, or in-home services.

  • Providing family consultations and placement support.

  • Educating caregivers on what to expect and how to prepare financially and emotionally.

Together, let’s make June a month of awareness and action. Because every brain deserves care, and every caregiver deserves community.
